Here are some of the other writing-related projects I am currently working on.
Biography of My Great-Great Aunt: August 2009 – present
In August 2009, I started working on a biography for my great-great aunt (whose name I would like to keep private for now). She’s 91 years old, relatively healthy, and has a great sense of humor and wits as sharp as tacks. And she’s had quite the life – growing up during the Great Depression and World War II; losing both of her parents before she turned 18; married three times, each marriage ending because of her husbands’ deaths; working as a nurse in the Boston area; raising her four children in addition to her four younger siblings… Yes, she may not be anyone famous or of great importance, but there is a lot of depth to her history.
This book will be my first piece of nonfiction, and is really meant to be a gift for my great-great aunt’s immediate family. I have no intentions on getting it published for these reasons. However, writing a biography presents some unique challenges and gives you a new perspective on life. I’ll post updates on this project as it moves along!
